Hello again world. My name is Tim Lumpkins, and this is my nth blog post on my millionth website.
I created my first web site in the late 90s. I was in high school, I’d recently acquired my first computer, and one of the first things that I did was to sign up for a GeoCities account. Since I was a high school kid with no real responsibilities, I spend a ridiculous amount of time learning how my computer worked and how to write HTML.
I learned a lot and I had quite a few hits on my first site, but I eventually gave up on it because it took up too much of my time. I was writing book and CD reviews, and had a somewhat extensive listing of concerts. If only I’d known about databases. My life would have been a lot easier, and I would probably be a web developer now.
Instead, I am a printer/grad student who dreams of being copywriter, brand strategist and photographer. It’s been taken me a few years to finally figure things out, but I’m young and there’s still enough time to do it all.
My vast work experience is mostly related to printing, with the tail end of my experience focusing on higher education. I want to move into the world of marketing, especially in the non-profit sector, so this blog will be an amalgam of those areas and maybe some other fun stuff too. We’ll see.Google+
